Transcription Problems

If transcription is blank or incomplete

• Background noise may have drowned out your voice
• Microphone permission may be denied
• Try re-recording in a quieter space

If transcription is inaccurate

• Speak more clearly and slowly
• Move closer to the microphone
• Reduce background noise
• You can edit the transcript before generating the story

If transcription doesn't start

• Check your internet connection
• Wait 60 seconds (processing sometimes delays)
• Force close and reopen the app
• Contact support if it fails after 2 minutes

Common issues

Background noise:

• Turn off TV, radio, fans
• Close windows
• Record when house is quiet
• Background noise confuses the AI

Speaking too quietly:

• Speak at normal conversation volume
• Don't whisper
• Move closer to microphone

Poor microphone:

• Check that microphone isn't covered
• Hold phone 6-12 inches from mouth
• Use headphone mic for better quality

Accent or speech patterns:

• AI works with all accents
• Speak clearly at normal pace
• The AI learns from context

Editing transcripts

Before generating the story:

1. Review the transcript
2. Tap edit
3. Fix any errors
4. Save
5. Then generate the story

The AI uses your edited transcript to create the story.

When to re-record

Consider re-recording if:

• Most of the transcript is wrong
• Background noise is too loud
• You spoke too quietly
• Audio quality is very poor

A few small errors are fine to edit manually.
